About Missouri Early Learning
The Best Professional Development Conference for Pre-K to 3rd Grade Teachers!
Welcome to the Missouri Early Learning Conference website! My name is Willy Wood, and I’m the Conference Coordinator. I want to thank you for visiting our site and congratulate you on finding one of the best annual professional development opportunities around.
We at Missouri Early Learning know how challenging the job of a preschool or primary grades teacher can be—teaching young students reading, writing, math, and science; teaching them life skills and social skills; teaching them to love learning and motivating them to do their best. We know that the job is both challenging and rewarding in equal measures.
We have made it our mission to offer you all the help you need to tackle the challenges and reap the rewards. We do this by providing inspiration, illumination, and information you can use by bringing to Missouri some of the biggest and best names in the field of early childhood and primary grades education.
I guarantee you won’t want to miss this year’s conference! You’ll be energized by Dave Burgess of Teach Like a PIRATE fame; you’ll be entertained by Jack Hartmann’s toe-tapping tunes; and you’ll laugh along with best-selling children’s authors Bruce Lansky (Giggle Poetry), Jeff Nathan, and Jarrett Krosoczka (the Lunch Lady series and many more).
In addition, you’ll learn practical classroom strategies for teaching writing from writing guru Matt Glover, for teaching math from energetic math teacher Greg Coleman (“Mr. Elementary Math”), and for getting preschool kids ready for success in school from early childhood expert Amanda Morgan.
You’ll pick up tips for teaching reading from literacy experts John Schumacher (“the XTreme Librarian”) and Jennifer Serravallo; you’ll learn how to teach hands-on science lessons from Lisa Murphy (“the Ooey Gooey Lady”), and you’ll learn the latest and greatest ways to use educational technology in your classroom from ed tech expert Kara Welty.
All of that, plus more than 50 informative breakout sessions on a wide variety of teaching topics, exhibits and book sales, autographing sessions, refreshments, and an afternoon reception held by Missouri ILA featuring children’s author Bruce Lansky!
And oh yeah, this year we’ve added even more fun! You can now listen to award-winning storytellers during your lunch break and attend a Thursday evening concert by singer-songwriter Jack Hartmann!
All in all, there really is no better professional development opportunity out there for pre-K to 3rd grade teachers. We hope you agree, and we hope to see you at this year’s conference!
